Tea is a natural powerhouse packed with so many health benefits

The Power of Tea for Your Health

True teas – such as black tea and green tea are the only main dietary source of the amino acid, L-theanine. Consumption of L-theanine results in moderate stress reduction, improved brain performance and balanced alertness.  Black and green teas are additionally brimming with antioxidants, which work to prevent cell damage within the body. Polyphenols are a major type of antioxidant found in tea. They include a variety of plant compounds (such as flavonoids) that offer beneficial effects on heart health and reducing inflammation.

Our herbal teas are made from a wide range of herbs, flowers, roots, and spices, offering a diverse array of health-boosting compounds. Our herbal teas are caffeine-free and rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, making them a gentle and nourishing choice for daily hydration and wellness. For example, chamomile, peppermint, and ginger can support improvements in sleep, ease digestive discomfort or headaches, and provide anti-inflammatory benefits while reducing oxidative stress on the body.

In summary: the evidence says drinking 2-4 cups of tea every day can have positive effects on your heart health, brain function, blood pressure, reduce your risk of stroke, along with supporting you to stay hydrated and improving your overall wellbeing.

How to Brew the Perfect Cup

Step by step…

Start with fresh, filtered water. For black tea use water at a full boil (around 100°C). For green tea heat water to about 80°C to avoid bitterness. For herbal teas heat water to a full boil (100°C).

Measure one teaspoon of loose leaf tea OR one biodegradable tea bag per cup. If you are making a pot of tea, add an extra teaspoon ‘for the pot’ (i.e. 500ml tea pot = 3 teaspoons of loose leaf tea).

Steep your tea. Our high quality tea leaves and herbs (used in both our loose leaf tea and biodegradable tea bags) require time to infuse. Typically 3-5 minutes for black tea, 2-3 minutes for green tea, and anywhere from 5-10 minutes for herbal tea. Adjust steeping time to your taste preference—longer steeping can lead to a stronger flavor.

Finally, strain the tea leaves or remove the tea bag, and enjoy your perfectly brewed cup.

Tea should always be enjoyable! So, this is a great starting point, and make any adjustments you desire.
